In March, Kindergarten scholars at CCSA reflected on all that they had learned during Black History Month with a theatrical and musical showcase. With confidence, these youngest scholars performed a short play they had developed, read biographies they had written, and sang vibrant songs of leadership and hope. Integrating the arts with history, scholars depicted and honored the lives of Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr, Ruby Bridges, Wangari Maathai, Bessie Coleman, and Barack Obama. With parents, friends, and teachers in attendance, it was an afternoon of celebration and inspiration. You can enjoy a short portion of their performance below as Kindergarteners sing a stanza from “Imagine” by John Lennon and “I Have a Dream” written by CCSA’s music teacher, Frank Hosking.
